WMPG Local Motives

As a student at the University of Southern Maine, I volunteered and later held a work-study position at WMPG, Portland’s community radio station on the campus of USM. At the station, I created promos and did copywriting for internal memos, PSAs, social media, and underwriting cards. I hosted a biweekly radio show, Sonic Traveler, photographed and occasionally engineered WMPG’s long running local music show, Local Motives. I was an archivist for WMPG’s massive CD library reorganization project, and did odd jobs such as installing AC units, building shelves, and fixing turntables. I look back on my college days at WMPG fondly, and still volunteer and DJ when I have a chance.
